Information about AOTA CEUs
Most, if not all, courses are approved for AOTA CEUs for occupational therapists and occupational therapy assistants. To earn the CEUs, participants will be required to:
- Complete the course in its entirety (100% of the course watched)

Information about ASHA CEUs
Most courses are approved for ASHA CEUs. CEUs are submitted directly to ASHA within 45 days following the month the course is completed. Please check the FAQ section on each course page to confirm whether ASHA CEUs will be reported automatically. If a course is not ASHA-approved, you will still receive a certificate of completion, which can be used toward the 30 professional development hours (PDHs) required for each 3-year certification cycle.
Information about CEUs for Physical Therapy practitioners
Some courses are approved for CEUs through the California Physical Therapy Association (CPTA). Please refer to the FAQ section on each course page to confirm approval status. If a course is not CPTA-approved, we recommend checking with your state licensing board regarding acceptance of online coursework.
To support your submission, be sure to save the following:
- Certificate of completion
- List of references
- Copy of the post-test questions
Can I count courses towards my 90 hours of lactation-specific education?
Absolutely! Please review the IBCLC Commission page for further details on lactation-specific education hours. To receive credit for completion, the course must be completed with 100% watch time and each participant will need to complete a post-assessment with a passing score of at least 80% to ensure all learning objectives are met.
How long will I have access to the course?
You’ll have access for 6 months from the date of purchase. If you need more time, you can choose to:
-
Extend access to a single course for an additional 30 days (one-time fee)
-
Subscribe to a monthly access plan to continue viewing all of your enrolled courses for as long as they remain available in the CEU store
Why are some courses limited to licensed therapists?
At The Lactation OT, we are committed to upholding ethical standards and staying within professional scope of practice. To ensure we put our best effort into aligning course content with appropriate use, some offerings are limited to licensed therapists.
Because we cannot guarantee how information will be interpreted or applied, we take a cautious approach for liability reasons. This helps protect both learners and the families they serve, while preserving the integrity of our educational content.
That said, we do offer a number of courses that are open to professionals outside of licensed therapy disciplines, check out the healthcare profession CEU store.
